Broadway Entrance Concept

BROADWAY ROAD IMPROVEMENTS
The City of Mesa improvements to Broadway Rd will affect the FOS 80th St entrance at Broadway Rd.
The City tentatively re-scheduled this to go to bid in September 2012 with the council awarding the bid in November of 2012 and construction starting in 2013. Construction is estimated to take 12-18 months.

PROPOSED FOS BROADWAY ROAD ENTRANCE IMPROVEMENTS
At the completion of the Mesa Broadway Road improvements the Fountain of the Sun Community Association (FOSCA) Board, through the efforts of COBREI (Committee on Broadway Rd Entrance Improvements), would like to propose:
- updating the guardhouse,
- updating the entrance for visitors as well as residents
- lighted sidewalks on east and west sides
- added right turn lane at exit
- new security fences and gates
- a turn-around for unauthorized vehicles

The reconstruction of the 80th St entrance would be done after the completion of the City’s Broadway Rd improvements, but not during the winter months.

Concept drawings of the new entrance can be viewed in PDF form by clicking on the following links:
Plans are also available to view in the hallway of the Administration Office at 540 S. 80th Street.

The proposal is an improvement that the FOSCA Board of Directors supports, and will be seeking input from the community about in the coming months. The bylaws of FOSCA in Article X stipulate that this type of capital improvement project would require the approval of a majority of members of FOSCA.

THE TOTAL PROJECT AS PROPOSED WILL NOT BE CONSTRUCTED WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF THE FOSCA MEMBERSHIP.

Please stop by the FOSCA Administration Building to view all the concept drawings which are displayed on the hallway wall.
